7 TradeZella Alternatives Compared

TradeZella alternatives sorted by why you are leaving: price, trade replay, broker coverage, a free plan, or analytics depth. Prices as of October 2026.

The best TradeZella alternative is the one that fixes the specific thing that made you start looking. For most traders that is price, since TradeZella raised its plans in July 2026. For others it is trade replay, broker coverage, or wanting a free plan. This guide sorts seven alternatives by that reason, with current pricing and an honest note on what you give up by leaving.

One note up front. JournalX makes one of the tools on this list, so weigh our entry with that in mind. We say where each tool is the better choice, TradeZella included. Every tool here is a review and analysis tool, not a source of signals or financial advice.

Why traders look for a TradeZella alternative

TradeZella is a mature, polished journal, and it is still the right pick for some traders. In July 2026 it moved from two plans to three. Essential went from $29 to $35 a month, Pro from $49 to $59, and a new Ultra tier arrived at $99, according to TradeZella's own pricing post. Four things tend to start the search:

  • Price. Paying month to month, the entry plan costs $420 over a year. Every alternative below costs less at its entry paid plan, as the chart shows.
  • Replay sits on the higher tier. Full trade replay, the feature TradeZella is best known for, starts on Pro at $59 a month. Its pricing page lists replay as not included on Essential.
  • No way to try it free. TradeZella has no free plan, and its pricing page lists no free trial.
  • Fit. Some traders want a journal built around planning, a different broker list, or something lighter to open every day.
First-year cost of each journal's entry paid plan, from $99 for JournalPlus's yearly plan to $420 for TradeZella Essential billed monthly. Edgewonk and JournalPlus are shown at their yearly prices, and the rest at their monthly prices times twelve.

Prices in this guide are US list prices as of October 2026. They change often, so confirm on each vendor's pricing page before you buy. Annual billing lowers most of them.

1. TraderSync (replay, AI, and a long broker list)

TraderSync is the nearest thing to TradeZella with a different price tag. It has run since 2013, ships iOS and Android apps, includes its Market Replay simulator on every plan and trade replay from Premium, and has its own AI assistant, Cypher. It says it connects with over 700 brokers and trading platforms, one of the longest lists in the category.

The main trade-off is metered AI. Cypher is capped at five messages a day on Pro, 15 on Premium, and 60 on Elite. Pro is $29.95 a month ($22.46 billed annually), Premium is $49.95 ($37.46), and Elite is $79.95 ($59.96), each starting with a 7-day free trial. Our JournalX vs TraderSync page has the full breakdown.

Choose it over TradeZella if you want replay, AI, and mobile apps for less, or your broker is obscure.

2. TradesViz (deep analytics, with replay on Platinum)

TradesViz is the analytics heavyweight, with 100+ base charts on Pro, 600+ stats and analytics across the platform, and options Greeks analysis. Its free Basic plan covers 3,000 executions a month on stocks and one account, with no card needed, which makes it a generous free tier. Pro is $19.99 a month ($14.99 billed annually) and opens all asset classes, unlimited imports, 10 accounts, and the AI tools, including AI Query, AI Chat, and an AI Coach review. Platinum is $29.99 a month ($22.49 annually) and adds 20 accounts, trade replay, a trading simulator, backtesting, exit analysis, and options flow.

The free plan is limited to stocks, and replay and the simulator sit on Platinum. There is a 7-day free trial on the paid plans.

Choose it over TradeZella if you want the most analytics per dollar, or replay at about half the price of TradeZella Pro.

3. JournalX (planning first, with AI on the entry plan)

JournalX is built around one idea. If a daily review is fast and structured, you keep doing it, and that habit is what builds discipline. You write the plan before you enter, then reconcile it against what you actually did, which catches the moved stop or the entry you told yourself to skip. Rule-based Gameplans, a stackable filter builder, and an AI analyst over your own trades sit on top of that.

Starter is $24 a month ($19 billed annually) and Pro is $49 a month ($29 annually), each with a 7-day free trial and no card needed. That is below TradeZella at every comparable tier, and the AI analyst is included from Starter. Starter covers two trading accounts and three Gameplans. It syncs 50+ brokers and exchanges directly and imports a CSV from any broker.

The honest gaps are no trade replay, no backtesting, no mentor mode, and no native mobile apps. See the full JournalX vs TradeZella comparison.

Choose it over TradeZella if your problem is following your own rules, and you want a lower price with a free trial.

4. Edgewonk (one price, no tiers)

Edgewonk skips the subscription ladder. A one-year plan is $197 (VAT is added at checkout where it applies), with a 14-day refund window, and every subscriber gets the whole product, including unlimited accounts, trades, and journals. It leans into reflective, hands-on journaling, with a Psychology Lab and Tiltmeter for tracking tilt and mistakes, an Edge Finder that scans your journal every Sunday, a performance simulator for testing alternative strategies, and report cards for each session and period.

Auto-sync covers MetaTrader 4 and 5 brokers and prop firms plus a list of other platforms, and anything else goes in through an Excel import. It lists support for hundreds of brokers, so check whether yours syncs automatically. It has no AI assistant.

Choose it over TradeZella if you want depth and control at a flat yearly price and do not mind some manual work.

5. Tradervue (detailed reporting and a free plan)

Tradervue is an established journal aimed at active traders. It offers broker sync, more than 100 advanced reports, trade sharing, and mentor and mentee access, and the Gold plan adds exit analysis and maximum potential P&L analysis. The free plan lets you try it, with up to 30 trades a month across stocks, options, futures, and forex, plus basic journaling, reporting, and sharing.

Silver is $29.95 a month and Gold is $49.95, with a 7-day trial that charges your card automatically when it ends. There is no AI assistant.

Choose it over TradeZella if you want detailed reporting, a free starting point, or a sharing community.

6. StonkJournal (free with no trade cap)

StonkJournal's free plan has unlimited trades and unlimited accounts, with no card and no trial clock. The catch is that you enter trades by hand, since there is no live broker sync yet. The $10 a month Pro plan adds CSV import, an AI coach and chat over your own trades, and a roll-up across all your accounts.

Its analytics cover stats by symbol and day of week, an equity curve, a calendar heatmap, and risk rules, and it lists no trade replay or backtesting. Our roundup of genuinely free trading journals compares every free plan in the category.

Choose it over TradeZella if you want to build the journaling habit at no cost before paying for anything.

7. JournalPlus (pay once, or a cheap year)

JournalPlus has two plans with every feature in both. Yearly is $99 a year, and Lifetime is a one-time $159, each with a 7-day refund window. Trades come in by CSV import from any broker, and it includes AI insights and a chat assistant over your own trade data, which we cover in our AI trading journal roundup.

Choose it over TradeZella if you want to stop paying every month, or want the lowest-priced yearly plan, and are happy importing by CSV.

What you give up by leaving TradeZella

None of these seven copies all of TradeZella, so the real question is what you actually use.

  • Trade replay. TradeZella includes it from Pro. TradesViz Platinum and TraderSync include it too.
  • Backtesting. TradeZella includes it. TradesViz Platinum adds technical analysis and options strategy backtesting, and TraderSync adds automated backtesting on Elite. Edgewonk's performance simulator is a lighter way to test alternative strategies.
  • Mentor mode and Zella University. Tradervue has mentor and mentee access and shared trades, but the built-in classroom has no equivalent here.

If replay, backtesting, or the classroom is the reason you use TradeZella, stay or pick TradesViz Platinum or TraderSync. The others trade those features for price, speed, or planning.

How to switch without losing your history

Before you commit to any of them, check that your broker is on its supported list. JournalX's is on the supported brokers page. If you are still building the habit underneath the tool, our guide to how to keep a trading journal covers what to log and how often to review.

The bottom line

There is no single best TradeZella alternative, only the one that matches your reason for leaving. TraderSync and TradesViz Platinum are the closest replacements, TradesViz and Edgewonk are the analytics-for-less picks, StonkJournal is the free one, JournalPlus is the cheap pay-once option, and Tradervue is the established journal with a free plan. JournalX is the planning-first choice at a lower price. If you would rather compare the whole field, TradeZella included, see our ranking of the best trading journals of 2026.
